Curiosity Over Offence - My latest journey (and free July Calendar Printable)

Hi everyone!

Because I’m a sensitive soul, I’ve had a heck of a journey with Offence—and being offended too easily. Lately I have purposefully swapped being offended with being curious. And let me tell you, it’s been a game changer.

You know that awful rising heat you feel when someone says something that hits a nerve? That tightening in your chest, the instant stories you start writing in your head about what they meant and why? Yeah… I know that feeling intimately. I used to take things personally all the time—harmless comments, different opinions, even silence. It was like my internal radar was always scanning for rejection or judgment.

But here’s the truth: living in a constant state of offence is exhausting. It keeps us stuck in cycles of defensiveness, assumption, and sometimes even resentment. And worst of all—it steals our peace.

So, I decided to try something different. Now, when that little trigger starts creeping up my spine, I pause… and I get curious.

Instead of spiraling into “How dare they?”, I ask,
“Huh. I wonder what’s happening here?”
“Why is this bothering me so much?”
“What story am I telling myself right now?”
“Is this hitting an old wound that’s asking for healing?”

Curiosity is kind. It’s open-hearted. It invites us to explore instead of defending. It doesn’t mean you ignore unhealthy behavior or let people walk all over you—but it helps you lead with wisdom instead of wounding.

Maybe the person who snapped at you is having a rough day. Maybe their delivery was off, but their intent wasn’t. Maybe either person is tired, overstimulated, or navigating something deeper, and this moment just pressed up against it.

Curiosity turns into an opportunity for growth.
Offence closes the door.
Curiosity cracks it open and lets a different journey happen.

So, if you're a fellow sensitive soul like me, I encourage you to try this little shift. Next time you're tempted to take something personally, pause. Breathe. Get curious. You might just learn something new—about them, and about you.

Here’s to peace, perspective, and the gentle power of curiosity.

With curiosity,

Kylie x
