I never thought I’d be someone who loved gardening. But during the pandemic, when we were all home more and life slowed down, I found myself paying closer attention to the world just outside my door. What started as a way to pass the time quickly grew into something deeper—a quiet, grounding joy in planting, nurturing, and simply noticing the beauty in nature.
Now, I’m in complete awe of the natural world—especially the unique flora and fauna of Aotearoa., I’ve fallen head over heels for the wonder tucked into our gardens and wild spaces.
That’s what inspired me to write something truly special…

My new soon-to-be-released children’s book follows the gentle adventures of a curious kiwi and their spiky-eared hedgehog friend as they explore a vibrant New Zealand garden. Together, they discover our NZ Christmas Tree, the Pōhutukawa, our beautiful Silver Ferns, towering Sunflowers and fluttering butterflies—all through a lens of childlike wonder.
Every page celebrates the magic of nature in our own backyard and encourages children (and us grown-ups) to slow down, notice, and care for the natural world.
