The Curly Caterpillar Turns Two!

Hi!!!!!!!

This week marks two whole years since I published my very first children’s book – The Curly Little Caterpillar. I still remember the butterflies (fittingly!) in my stomach the day I hit publish. What started as a simple idea – a story just for one little boy – bloomed into something far bigger than I ever imagined.

It all began with my husband’s great-nephew. I wanted to read him a story that had heart and had vibrant illustrations that spoke about something real. But when I looked around, I couldn’t quite find the right one. So, one day I decided to write and publish one myself.  Not long after I wrote the storyline, I had a divine appointment with one of my amazing Illustrators SK Artista and the journey began!

That’s how The Curly Little Caterpillar was born – It developed into a story about transformation and change, both inside and out. About how the things we think make us “too different” or “not ready yet” are often the very things that shape our strength and beauty.

Since then, this curly little friend has travelled the globe to become a part of bedtime routines, Schools and Kindergartens and Library shelves and even Conferences and Expos – and that causes me to feel constant wonder and joy.

This story was never meant to just entertain – it was meant to gently empower those who read it.  Both Children and Adults alike and to remind children (and let’s be honest, us grownups too) that change is part of life, and it’s okay to feel uncertain along the way. We’re all a little quirky and curly sometimes. And that’s more than okay – it’s part of the journey.

Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for believing in the messages tucked inside these pages. If this little book has ever meant something to your family, I’d love to hear about it – those stories keep me writing.

Here’s to two years of curly caterpillars, big changes, and the beautiful things that come when we let ourselves grow.

With love and gratitude,
Kylie x
