Who Put Me in Charge of Everything?!

Hi everyone!

Firstly, thank you to all of you who have confirmed you would like to receive my weekly blogs, new book announcements and product promos! You are all in the draw to win a very fun prize!

Welcome to my weekly blog... where I share my journey in case you can relate.

When the Mental Load Feels Heavy:
How to Manage Your Mindset and Find Joy Again

I recently had a few months where I felt buried under the weight of my responsibilities. I all of a sudden felt frustrated and internally resenting all the things that seemed to fall on my shoulders—managing work, family, life admin... the endless list. Can you relate? That inner dialogue sounded a lot like, “Why is this all up to me? Why do I have to carry this load?”

It wasn’t a pretty headspace to be in, and I knew something had to shift.  I knew I had to make sure this mindset wasn't around for too long.  Thankfully, last week, after a good heart-to-heart with my closest loves, I was reminded that while I can’t always change my responsibilities, I can change how I think about them. That’s the power of mindset management.

I quickly reminded myself that it is not about ignoring the hard stuff or pretending life isn’t busy—it’s about choosing what you focus on. I remembered one of the key principles from my book, Changing Trains of Thought:

That one simple idea helped me take a breath, regroup, and start redirecting my thoughts toward gratitude, small joys, and the things I can control. It reminded me that life feels lighter when we intentionally focus on the good—even in the middle of chaos.  I was also reminded of another principle from my book.

If you’re feeling that mental load right now, you’re not alone. And I want to help! This is exactly why I created resources like my “Changing Trains of Thought” printable—a powerful tool designed to help you shift your thoughts, refocus your energy, and embrace a more positive, hope-filled mindset.

And because I know how much we all need these reminders right now, all of my Etsy printables, including this one, are 50% off for the rest of May!

Plus, if you’re looking for a calming way to ease the stress and unwind that mental tension, I’ve also created a Relaxing Coloring Journal for Mindfulness. It’s the perfect companion for slowing down, finding peace, and reconnecting with yourself. Sometimes, just 10 quiet minutes with a pen and some color is all it takes to calm the storm in your mind.

Feel free to share this May promotion with friends and loved ones who might need a little mindset refresh too! And don’t forget—you can also sign up here to go in the draw to win a double pass to any Reading Cinema in NZ AND receive a free copy of one of my books!

Let’s finish May strong—lighter, brighter, and focused on the good. Because when you choose joy, gratitude, and peace over negativity, life doesn’t just feel better—it becomes better.

See you next week and I hope you all have a great week with a lovely positive mindset!
